Chapter 1 - Checklist - Please complete by Monday, 14Oct13 (one week to complete)
  • Read Chapter 1 and post on wiki
  • Set up your Profile for wikispaces
  • Post a short bio and picture on your wiki documentation page
  • Read Chapter 1
  • View "Engage Me", “The Network Teacher”, “A Vision at K-12 Students Today” and “Did You Know 4.0
  • Visit/Explore GoAnimate and Voki.
  • View examples of GoAnimate and Voki
  • Answer the 4 discussion questions by posting to the Discussion tab (on the wiki) for Chapter 1:
    • What are your thoughts about each video you viewed?
    • Why is it important to you to keep up with the newest technology?
    • Any other thoughts you would like to share?
    • How could you use GoAnimate and/or Voki for/with your students?

Chapter 5 - Checklist - Please complete by Monday, 21Oct13 (one week to complete)
  • Read Chapter 5
  • View “RSS in Plain English”
  • Read post and visit suggested sites (i.e. RSS Feeds in the Classroom and RSS)
  • Set up a RSS Feed - (Please refer to the how to videos (on the wiki)
  • Subscribe to 6 feeds of interest.
  • Bookmark/visit your RSS Feed Reader often - you will find this will save you a lot of time. (Only one place to go instead of visiting numerous site)
  • Upload a screenshot of your RSS reader on your wiki page - which will need to include the 6 feeds you subscribed too.

Web 2.0 Tools of the Week

  • View/Visit/Explore Padlet, Blabberize, and Answer Garden
    • Post two ideas on how you could utilize Blabberize in the classroom or in your field of interest.
    • Post ideas on how you could use Answer Garden in the classroom or in your field of interest.
  • View “QR Codes Explained by Common Craft”
  • Download a QR Code Reader to your Smartphone/idevice.
  • View the various delicious bookmarks and/or pinterest - QR Code Generators and QR Codes in the Classroom
  • Create a QR Code (choose the text option in a QR Code Generator) on how you could utilize QR Codes in the classroom. Post to the appropriate wiki page.

Chapter 6 - Checklist: Please complete by 11Nov13

  • Read Chapter 6
  • View the YouTube videos on the post (i.e. Social Network, Social Bookmarks, Twitter by Common Craft videos)
  • Read post
  • View the VoiceThread tab on the Wiki
  • Answer the 3 short discussion question on the embedded VoiceThread found on the Chapter 6 wiki tab
  • Set up and utilize a Social bookmark account - (either delicious or diigo)
  • Upload a screenshot of your Social bookmark site (Should include your screen name) to your wiki page
    • Set up your Profile for this site too.
  • Accept invites from Classroom 2.0 and Web 2.0 Book Study Social Network - LinkedIn (this is optional) - invites will be sent to you.
    • Set up your Profile/My Page for the above social networks and check out/become familiar with these sites
  • Upload a screenshot of the 2 Social Network sites to your wiki page (Each will need to include your profile page.)
  • Comment to the Discussion on the Web 2.0 Book Study Social Network
  • Consider joining Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Consider setting up a Pinterest account.

Chapter 7 - Checklist: Please complete by 02Dec13 (2 weeks to complete NOT including Thanksgiving break)

  • Read chapter 7
  • View “Online Photo Sharing in Plain English” by Common Craft
  • Read post/view sites on Flicker and Picasa found on the Chapter 7 tab
  • Answer the 2 questions using one of the online presentation programs (please view the wiki for more details)

Web 2.0 Tools of the Week

  • Visit: LiveBinder, Big Huge Labs, Smore, and Cool Tools for School
  • Post on the embedded Linoit (on the wiki) how you could apply these 4 sites into your curricula

  • Bookmarks on various photo sharing site
